PHA welcomed for view on engaging children and young people

A presentation at the Public Health Association conference yesterday by Massey University's Dr John Waldon, focused on integrating children and young people’s views into health planning and service delivery, is a welcome perspective, says Save the Children New Zealand.

Save the Children New Zealand CEO Liz Gibbs says young people have invaluable insights and ideas about how to drive their future and should be given every opportunity to shape that vision.

“Save the Children is committed to providing a platform for young people to have their voices heard on the issues that affect them and we support the Public Health Association’s move to highlight the importance of involving children and young people in decisions that involve their own health and wellbeing,” says Ms Gibbs.

"Children are the ones that have the biggest stake in what the future holds. Ultimately, they must be empowered to shape the kind of world they want.”
