Regional Facilities Auckland appoints new board members
On behalf of Auckland Council Regional Facilities Auckland (RFA) announced today new appointments to the trust boards of Auckland War Memorial Museum, Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) and Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board.
An Auckland Council CCO (council-controlled organisation), the RFA oversees $968.3 million of major regional facilities in Auckland including the Auckland Art Gallery and Auckland Zoo. It takes a region-wide approach to running and developing Auckland’s arts, culture and heritage, leisure, sport and entertainment venues.
“Facilities such as the Auckland War Memorial Museum and MOTAT play a huge role in enriching the lives of Aucklanders and preserving our heritage,” says Len Brown. “I want to express my appreciation to these Aucklanders for the contribution they are making.”
Auckland Council, the Mayor, and RFA congratulate the following people who have been appointed, or reappointed, members of the following boards:
The Auckland Museum (two-year term)
Appointment of Fa'avae Gagamoe and John Sinclair and reappointment of Carol Gernhoefer
Museum of Transport and Technology (two-year term)
Appointment of Howard Small and reappointment of Ross Sharp and John Syme
Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board (three-year term)
Appointment of Anita Killeen and Grant Lilly and reappointment of Vern Walsh
In conjunction with Regional Facilities Auckland and Auckland Council, the following have also been appointed by the respective independent bodies:
Auckland Museum Institute to the Auckland Museum Trust Board
Dr William Randall and Margaret Horsburgh, CNZM
MOTAT Society to the Museum of Transport and Technology Board
Chris Chitty and Tom O'Connor
Amenities Board to the Auckland Regional Amenities Funding Board
Candis Craven and Penny Sefuiva
