Len Brown backs the Warriors
The Mayor is backing the Warriors all the way, as they prepare for their latest challenge in the NRL.
The Warriors need to win their next two games to qualify for a home semi-final at Mt Smart on September 9.
They have to beat both the Dragons in Wollongong on Sunday and the Cowboys at Mt Smart next weekend.
“I am a huge Warriors fan and absolutely know they have the ability to go all the way,” says the Mayor.
"September 9 is going to be a great night,” says Len Brown. “The RWC opening night party on the waterfront, including the most impressive fireworks display ever seen here, the ABs versus Tonga in the opening game at Eden Park and fingers crossed, a great NRL home semi at Mount Smart.”
“This will be Auckland at its best and I know all of the agencies involved are working hard to ensure the night goes well,” says the Mayor. “I've always said Auckland needs to be an events capital. This is proof we can be."
