Life Flight Responds to Emergency on Rimutaka Hill Road
At 12:50 this afternoon the Life flight trust responded to an injured digger driver on the Rimutaka hill Rd near Muldoons corner.
Life Flight responded with a Wellington Free Ambulance Paramedic onboard the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The worker had been operating a digger on a steep dirt incline when it lost traction and began to slide down the bank. He was able to jump from the vehicle but in the process sustained serious injuries to his legs after the digger rolled on top of him.
The man was treated on scene by Paramedics and then flown to Wellington Hospital Emergency where he is being further assessed and treated for his injuries.
