Porirua Police seize substantial amount of hydroponics grow equipment
A 24 year old Porirua man is facing drugs charges following the execution of a search warrant in Plimmerton this morning.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Dunn of the Porirua CIB says Police executed the warrant at an industrial work unit in Plimmerton where a substantial amount of hydroponics grow equipment used to cultivate cannabis was seized.
"We believe the items we recovered were capable of producing cannabis on a commercial scale. A 24 year old Porirua man has been charged with possession of equipment for the cultivation of cannabis and is due to appear in Court next week."
He says today's intelligence-led operation will cause significant disruption to certain individuals involved in the commercial cultivation of cannabis in the Porirua area. The value of the recovered equipment alone is likely to exceed $20,000.
