SAKAGUCHI “Showing New Zealand Fashion week
Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Show”
On the 22nd of February SAKAGUCHI was forced to close the doors of their Flagship store in Merivale Christchurch.
Finally on the 13th of June the store suffered extensive damage and had to be demolished.
“We received fantastic support from our very loyal local and Australian stockists with existing clients holding back on
budgets and rescheduling appointment times; this has been very encouraging and has enabled us to continue.”
Throughout all of the disruption and extremely tough economic times we have managed to increase our local and offshore
accounts and have also picked up new accounts.
New Zealand Fashion week organizer Pieter Stewart and Christchurch charity event organizer Angela Stone has invited us
along with five other Christchurch designers and local models to be a part of the New Zealand fashion week – Canterbury
charity designer show.
“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this very special event!” The show will take place in Auckland on
Friday the 2nd of September - 1pm in shed 2.
The appeal show will raise awareness of the help Christchurch will continue to require for some time but also help
re-engage people with the local Christchurch designers and support them by purchasing their designs. The show will have
an optional $5 donation which you will be able to donate before being seated which will be donated to the Red Cross
Earthquake Appeal!!
