Pizza Provides Community Groups with Cash Injection
Community, school and sporting groups in Whangarei are set to receive an estimated $10,000 over the next year thanks to its local Domino’s Pizza. Domino’s Pizza Whangarei plans to hold a Doughraiser every Monday night to raise money for various charities and organisations in the town.
Franchisee Jayesh Madhav says he has been running the initiative for the past three months and it’s proven to be such a success that he’s keen to keep it going. “So far we’ve helped a number of schools and sports teams, but we’d like to extend it out to all of the various community organisations here in Whangarei,” he says.
The community-minded franchisee says last year about $4000 was given back to the community through its Doughraisers, which gives $1 from every pizza sold between 5pm to 8pm on a given day. “We’re passionate about giving back to the community that has supported us and by holding one every week, we would really love to raise more than $10,000 over the next year, says Mr Madhav.
