Concerns grow for missing Porirua man
Police concerns are growing for a missing Porirua man, last seen just over two days ago.
26 year old William Campbell was last seen in the Kenepuru Hospital grounds around 9am on Wednesday morning. A Police search on Wednesday afternoon and evening failed to locate him.
Detective Sergeant Steve Dunn of the Porirua CIB says Police are growing more concerned for the wellbeing and safety of Mr Campbell, given he has now been missing for more than 48 hours.
"One of our lines of enquiry is still the possibility that Mr Campbell may be en route to Auckland, however he requires daily medication and from our enquiries to date, we do not believe he has any medication with him, hence our growing concerns. We also don't believe he has very much cash on him so may be seeking shelter in public buildings or charitable housing facilities."
"William Campbell's parents are extremely concerned for their son and urge him to phone them or Police to let us know he's okay."
Mr Campbell's parents, Don and Liz Campbell have been assisting Police over the past two days. They say: “The family is gathered together anxiously waiting to hear about our treasured son and brother. Not knowing where he is and whether he is alright is deeply distressing. We urgently need to know. Please, William, or anyone who has any information, let us or the Police know.”
Anyone with any information as to William Campbell's whereabouts should contact 111 or phone Porirua Police Station on (04) 238 1400.
