Lower Hutt Police investigating the death of Filipo Sipaia make two further arrests
Lower Hutt Police investigating the death of Stokes Valley father of three, Filipo Sipaia, have made two further arrests in relation to this incident.
24 year old Filipo Sipaia died in Wellington Hospital on Sunday afternoon, following an assault which occurred at around 9:00pm on Saturday night (13 August 2011) in Pomare, where Mr Sipaia was involved in an altercation with a group of people.
Officer in charge of Lower Hutt CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Borrell says in addition to the arrest of a male on Sunday 14 August, a 22 year old man has been charged with manslaughter and a 19 year old man has been charged with assault this morning.
Both are Lower Hutt men and will appear in the Lower Hutt District Court shortly.
A male appeared in Court on Monday in relation to this matter and is due to reappear late this month."
D/S/S Borrell says Police will continue to take positive steps in dealing with crimes of violence. Regrettably, these types of incidents are all too common and can have tragic outcomes, as we have seen in this case, where three pre school children have been left without their Dad.
