High seas expected along Hawke’s Bay coastline
Coastal residents are being advised to expect large swells of 5 – 8 meters to hit the coast of Hawke’s Bay from six o’clock this evening.
The swell could affect property in the Clifton, Te Awanga, Haumoana, Ocean Beach and Waimarama areas and residents are being advised to be prepared to self evacuate if required.
The danger period will run from around 6pm to around 10 o’clock this evening (Wednesday))and again from around 6.30am until around 10.30 tomorrow morning (Thursday) .
Swells of this magnitude will be extremely dangerous. People are advised to avoid the affected areas.
