Snow delays consultation on the draft Central City Plan
Heavy snowfall in Christchurch during the last two days has delayed the start of consultation on the draft Central City Plan.
The draft document is available online today at centralcityplan.org.nz for people to read, download and make a written comment, says Christchurch City Council Strategy and Planning General Manager Mike Theelen.
“However, the heavy snowfalls in the last couple of days have meant we have been unable to get printed copies of the draft Plan out to Council Service Centres, Libraries and Recreation and Sport Centres.
“Printed copies of the draft Plan were due from the printers yesterday but the snow has meant we have been unable to get these to Council facilities.”
Mr Theelen says it is hoped these will be available tomorrow and be at Council facilities within the next couple of days.
The draft Central City Plan is available for written comments until 5pm on Friday 16 September 2011.
Roadshows begin next Tuesday 23 August, the draft Plan being taken out to various locations in the community for the public to learn more about the Plan, to talk to the planners and make written comments.
