Alfriston crash victim named
The woman who died following a fatal crash in Alfriston, near Manurewa, a few minutes before midnight on Saturday was 25 year-old Fay Roberts of Alfriston.
She was a passenger in a red Toyota Corolla that had been heading South along Mill Road when it attempted to turn right into Ranfurly Road and collided with an oncoming vehicle, a dark blue Suzuki Swift. Ms Roberts died at the scene.
The male driver of the Toyota escaped injury as did the male driver of the Suzuki.
The single passenger in the Suzuki, a woman in her 50's, was taken to Middlemore Hospital with minor injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit is conducting a thorough investigating into the crash which will establish whether or not charges will be laid.
They would like to speak with anybody who witnessed the crash that has not already spoken Police, or anybody who saw the red Toyota travelling along Mill Road prior to the crash. If you have any information that could help with their enquiries, please contact Constable Andrew Petrie of the Serious Crash Unit on 09 262 9109.
