Rural Women New Zealand launches all black aftersocks™
Rural Women New Zealand has today released the latest edition to their very popular aftersock™ family, a special edition all black aftersock™ with red ‘shake’ line.
Following many requests our very popular red and black striped aftersock™ has also been launched in two smaller sizes for children.
Since the project was launched on 20 June orders for the New Zealand made merino-blend socks have been flooding in from all over the world, says Rural Women New Zealand national president, Liz Evans.
“We have sold nearly 9000 pairs to date. People are wearing our socks in America, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, Germany, Norway and the Netherlands, just to name a few!”
“The socks are being manufactured by family-owned companies in Canterbury, so we’re supporting the region in a very practical way, as well as donating all profits to the Christchurch Mayoral Fund.”
The campaign for aftersocks™ has been run through social media, with the aftersock™ Facebook community now at over 3000 people.
One year on from the initial quake, Rural Women New Zealand will hold an ‘aftersock™’ day on Friday 2 September. Supporters can unite by wearing their socks to show Cantabrians they are still thinking of them.
The socks can be purchased from the website www.aftersocks.co.nz. Men’s and women’s sizes cost $20/pair, children’s are $25 for a pack of two pairs and our special edition all back aftersocks™ are $25/pair, plus postage and packaging.
