Arrests made in Turf Bar robbery
Whakatäne Police have arrested and charged three men with the aggravated robbery of the Kopeopeo Turf Bar on the night of Monday 25 July, 2011.
Joseph William Moeller was arrested and charged when he was located in Auckland on 9 August 2011. He has appeared in the Auckland District Court. Lance Gregory Butler was located in Hamilton on Wednesday 10 August 2011 and appeared in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday 11 August 2011.
A 23 year old male from Whakatäne will appear in the Whakatäne District Court on Saturday 13 August 2011.
The officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Sergeant Ross Everest says enquiries are on-going and Police have not ruled out further arrests.
He says Police would also like to thank members of the public for their assistance and information, particularly after the case screened on the Police Ten-7 programme.
