Treble Cone reports record numbers
LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (August 4, 2011) – Treble Cone has reported record numbers over school holidays after a delayed start to the 2011 season.
From famine to feast, Treble Cone is relishing in record breaking school holiday figures which saw the second week of the holidays bring more skiers and snowboarders to the mountain than ever before.
Albeit late starting, the season kicked off with an outstanding coverage of snow resort-wide with both the Home and Saddle Basin both operational within a few days of the first considerable snowfall. A generous amount of blue bird days throughout July offered locals and visitors to the region the perfect opportunity to experience Treble Cone’s terrain at its best.
“We’ve had an amazing start to the season. For the first week in August, the current conditions are incredible, certainly not the norm. The entire mountain is accessible with great snow conditions in both the Home and Saddle Basin. The off-piste skiing and snowboarding in particular is bringing in a lot of customers. The last two weeks have been the best school holidays we have ever had’, said Jackie Van Dervoort, Treble Cone’s General Manager.
The 2011 season sees the introduction of a new computerised ticketing system which has been welcomed by visitors cutting down queue times and maximising turnaround.
Treble Cone passes can be purchased through the website or by visiting the new downtown Wanaka office on Dungarvon Street.
