Car v pedestrian

Police and other emergency services attended a car v pedestrian collision this morning in Te Irirangi Drive, Flatbush. The incident happened about 7.10 am. A group of cyclists assisted at the scene with traffic control and looking after the victim until ambulance arrived.

The pedestrian was taken to Middlemore Hospital. His injuries were described as serious.

The Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene and the southbound lane of Te Irirangi Rd is closed between Dawson Rd and Ormiston Rd until about 10 am.

The decade between 1952 and the early 1960s was the peak period for the style of music we now call doo wop, after which it got dissolved into soul music, girl groups, and within pop music in general. Basically, doo wop was a form of small group harmonising with a distinctive chord progression that – like hip hop – started out on the streets.
