Elderly Nelson couple found dead
A Nelson couple in their 80s were found dead in their home in the city about 1pm today.
Nelson Detective Sean Young said police were alerted by a visitor to the house that the couple were not answering their
door and meals left at the address had not been taken inside.
When police entered the house they found the couple both deceased in an apparent assisted suicide / suicide.
They are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.
The matter has now been referred to the coroner. The couple's names will not be released until next of kin have been
notified.
