Quality new and pre-loved books at 2011 Variety Fair
Quality new and pre-loved books at 2011 Variety Monster Book Fair
With over 80,000 good quality, pre-loved books, DVDs, CDs, games and puzzles and thousands of brand new children’s books, there is something for everyone at Variety – The Children’s Charity’s Monster Book Fair.
This year’s Monster Book Fair is being held from 28 – 31 July at the Alexandra Park Function Centre, Greenlane. Opening night on Thursday, 28 July runs from 6pm – 10pm and for an entry fee of only $10, buyers will have the first opportunity to browse and purchase the bargain books. Entry is free from Friday to Sunday.
Thousands of brand new children’s books will be on sale for between $2 and $6, as well as the usual range of pre-loved books between 50 cents and $3, categorised into more than 200 different subject areas so that book lovers can easily find the books they are most interested in.
All proceeds from the Book Fair go towards Variety’s Future Kiwi Kids programme to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged Kiwi kids to fulfill their academic, artistic and sporting potential.
“This year we are very excited to bring you thousands of brand new children’s books, for an unbelievable price of under $6 each,” says Mary McCutcheon-Walker, coordinator of the A-Z Book Fair Committee. “Buy some for your own children and share the love of reading, or stock up for birthday and Christmas presents.
“Winter is the perfect time to curl up with a good book or keep cosy indoors and watch a DVD. With prices as low as $1, you can really get a bargain at the Variety Monster Book Fair, and know that you are helping to create brighter futures for Kiwi kids. Last year the Monster Book Fair raised more than $115,000 for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and we are aiming to better this in 2011.”
Variety gratefully acknowledges the valuable support of Alexandra Park Function Centre, Four Winds Foundation, and the dedication of the A-Z Book Fair Committee.
