TVNZ Statement Re: Police Investigation Into Sunday
“TVNZ is surprised by the decision by Christchurch police to launch a criminal investigation into the company’s flagship current affairs show, Sunday,” says Anthony Flannery, TVNZ’s Head of News and Current Affairs.
“We believe Arie Smith-Voorkamp’s story is of genuine public interest and deserved to be told.
“TVNZ stands by the story and the integrity and conduct of Sunday’s staff.
“We are confident the Sunday team dealt honestly, openly and fairly with people involved in the case.
“Sunday is a world class current affairs programme that adheres to the highest broadcast standards and journalism ethics. Its reputation for quality current affairs is second to none in New Zealand.”
