SBS Bank Extends ‘Helping Hand’ to Quake Struck Non-Profit Groups
SBS Bank has announced the launch of a new aid package to assist its non-profit clubs and societies to rebuild their organisations and fundraising opportunities following the devastation in Christchurch.
Launched Monday 27 June SBS Bank Helping Hand is dedicated recovery fund for non-profit groups that are on board with the SBS Star banking package, specifically designed for non-profit groups.
SBS Bank Ferrymead manager Ian Pollock said it had become very apparent, following the devastation of the ongoing earthquakes that the SBS Star community in Canterbury needed support over and above the usual.
“That’s why our team put together SBS Bank Helping Hand to help existing Star account holders who are looking to get back on their feet after the earthquakes.
“Through SBS Bank Helping Hand, we’ve committed $100,000 for each of the next three years, which is available to match the recovery fundraising efforts made by SBS Star non-profit organisations in Canterbury to a maximum value of $2000.
“To try and make the rebuilding process easier for our hard-working non-profit groups, the fund is open to existing and any new groups who get on board with SBS Star. They are also allowed to apply each year that SBS Bank Helping Hand is on offer.”
Mr Pollock said over and above the features available through the SBS Star banking package, which included the chance to win one of 10 prize draws of $1000 every month and a fee-free transactional account, there would be additional benefits for SBS Star account holders in Canterbury.
“For our team, no amount of destruction will slow us down from getting out into our communities and lending a hand to support our customers when ever and where ever we can. We understand what everyone has been going through and if we can help out at a local recovery fundraising event with our SBS Bank marquee, our barbecue trailer, or just even with some of our willing staff to lend a helping hand then we’ll be happy to help.”
Mr Pollock said anyone wanting to find out more about SBS Bank Helping Hand and whether their non-profit organisation would be eligible to apply for an upcoming fundraising event, needed to get in contact with their local SBS Bank branch at Ferrymead, Riccarton and Papanui or phone 0800 502 442.
