More Water Tankers for Worst-Affected
An extra 12 water tankers are on their way to the city's worst-affected suburbs to help residents who still do not have water supply.
The tankers will be distributed tomorrow to areas including Dallington, Mt Pleasant, Brookhaven, Bexley and Horseshoe Lake. Exact locations will be advised tomorrow morning. These tankers remain in place while full, and are then taken away to be refilled before returning to sites.
Tanks and tankers are available in suburbs without water supply. There are 16 large tanks in place in addition to seven smaller tankers, which need to be moved to be refilled. Demand for tank water is being monitored daily and distribution adjusted to meet these needs.
As of 3pm today, 16,552 properties were still without water supply - around 10 per cent of the city.
