Youth Volunteer Awards
Sixty young Nelsonians have been nominated for a Youth Volunteer award for their ‘good works’ in the local community.
The annual awards celebrate the voluntary efforts of young people aged 12 to 25 and include everything from helping out at breakfast in schools, sport, after-school homework programmes, Riding for the Disabled and fundraising.
The awards will be presented at an event on June 23 at the New Hub. Tomo Chisnall, a previous recipient, and Ivan Tava are guest speakers. Entertainment will be provided by a theatre sports group and the Tava sisters, with catering by Garin College.
The Youth Volunteer Awards are jointly run by Volunteer Nelson, The New Hub and the Nelson City and Tasman District You
