2011 MTV MOVIE AWARDS PREMIERES ON MTV NEW ZEALAND (SKY channel 014)

NEW YORK, NY, Auckland, New Zealand, June 3, 2011 – MTV has announced that they will give viewers two exclusive sneak peeks of upcoming films, “Super 8” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Also announced, Academy Award®-winning actress Reese Witherspoon will be honoured with the “MTV Generation Award” during the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

The highly anticipated film “Super 8”, is written and directed by J.J. Abrams, with Steven Spielberg serving as a producer. Both will join “Super 8” stars Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney on-stage to present the never-before-seen footage.

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will take the stage to present viewers with the very first look at footage from the latest Twilight installment, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1”. This highly anticipated exclusive sneak peek marks the beginning of the end as fans worldwide prepare for the concluding chapters of the “Twilight Saga” phenomenon.

The “MTV Generation Award” will honour Reese Witherspoon for her exceptional contributions to the film industry and for charming generations of the MTV audience throughout her career. Witherspoon is considered one of Hollywood’s most talented, diverse and bankable actresses. The “MTV Generation Award” is the “MTV Movie Awards” highest honour, acknowledging an actor who can be counted on to engage the MTV audience with everything she does.

As previously announced, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, Emma Stone, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, CameronDiaz, Jason Segel, Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy are confirmed to present popcorn awards during this year’s show. In addition, the Foo Fighters will deliver one of their trademark epic performances as they debut their new single “Walk” from their seventh studio album Wasting Light.

Also set to rip the stage is Grammy Award-winning hip-hop superstar Lupe Fiasco who will treat viewers to two singles off his hit album LASERS by joining with R&B sensation Trey Songz for their first-ever televised performance together of “Out of My Head” to be followed by Lupe’s platinum single “The Show Goes On.”
