Cooking with Cameron - are you game?

Cameron Petley captured the hearts of the nation with his efforts on MasterChef – A hunter from the heartland with a magician’s touch in the kitchen, he performed well in every discipline, but showed his true love is for cooking game.

Now you have a chance to get up close and personal with Cameron and his cooking when he co-hosts a game bird evening at Bay of Plenty’s premier luxury venue, Fantail Lodge Country Estate, all part of the 2011 Gamebird Food Festival.

On June 18, Cameron is teaming up with Harrie Geraerts, proprietor and executive chef at Fantail Lodge Country Estate, to bring you a complete game bird cooking experience.

There will be hands on bird preparation demonstrations with an opportunity for some of the guests to have a go, Cameron’s delectable game bird nibbles will be on offer and there’ll be a wine tasting with Gordon Russell (a keen outdoorsman and winemaker from Esk Valley Estate), all topped off with a five-course game bird dinner prepared by Cameron and Harrie.

With Harrie Geraets uncompromising commitment to five-star service and fine cuisine coupled with Cameron’s natural flair with game cuisine, this promises to be a very special event

You’ll even get the chance to quiz Cameron on his personal MasterChef experience and maybe even find out what’s next for this crowd favourite!

Fantail Lodge Country Estate is widely considered to be one of New Zealand’s finest lodges. A country estate with a working orchard and a luxury lodge set amid 40 acres of gardens, rocky creeks and subtropical plantations.

Make a weekend of it in Katikati and stay in one of the lodges luxury apartments or join Cameron and the team at Fantail lodge for a delicious afternoon and evening of everything game bird!
