Vote for Kiwis to Do Their Thing with AMP in 2011
Voting is now open for the AMP People’s Choice Award, marking the official closure of the 2011 annual AMP Scholarship Programme.
The 13th annual scholarship programme saw a record breaking 1279 applications successfully submitted, all of which are now in the running for the chance to receive the coveted $10,000 People’s Choice Award as nominated by public vote at www.doyourthing.co.nz.
Blair Vernon, AMP General Manager, acknowledges the overwhelming response to this year’s programme and now urges Kiwis to take part in the people’s choice voting process.
“This year AMP set a tough challenge for potential applicants to dig-deep and identify what their life-long dreams are and so many people did.
The responsibility now lies with the public to help AMP celebrate our talent by voting for the applicant who they think is most deserving of the People’s Choice Award,” he says.
Last year’s response to the award was huge, with 110,846 people from 146 countries casting their vote, setting the benchmark high for this year’s voters.
Voting for People’s Choice is open from June 1 to July 31 2011, meaning Kiwis have just two months to play their part in determining which applicant is awarded the $10,000 People’s Choice Award.
“AMP wants to see a true Kiwi race to the finish,” Vernon concludes.
The 1279 submitted applications are now going through an extensive judging process with national finalists set to be announced at the November 24 2011 awards ceremony.
To date, the AMP Scholarships Programme has awarded more than $1.2 million worth of scholarships to 112 Kiwis who have been doing great things. AMP is gearing up to help even more Kiwis this year, and with People’s Choice, Kiwis can do their part too.
