Turners to Hold No Reserve Furniture and Electronics Auction in Christchurch
As new, quake-salvaged stock from two major retailers to be cleared
Hundreds of items of as new furniture, whiteware and electronics salvaged after the February Canterbury earthquake will be put under the hammer at no reserve by Turners Auctions this weekend.
The salvaged stock has come from two major Christchurch retailers whose operations were affected by the earthquake.
“We’ve got everything from flat-screen televisions, stereos and washing machines, to beds, bedroom furniture and lounge suites. Much of it has only minor scratches or packaging damage and is simply no longer suitable for a retail environment,” says Alan Kurtovich, General Manager of Turners’ Commercial and Industrial branches.
“Everything will be sold at no reserve, which means the highest bidder will take the item home – it’s a great opportunity to come along and try to grab a bargain,” says Kurtovich.
The two-day auction will start at 12pm on Saturday 28 May and 10am on Sunday 29 May at Turners Auctions, 1 Detroit Place, Christchurch.
Customers are able to view and inspect the goods in advance of the auction, with viewing days scheduled on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 May, between 10am and 4pm.
