TRANS-TASMAN RIVALRY TESTED IN
TOUCH RUGBY
The Australian Catholic University (ACU)
team isn’t perturbed about being the only Australian side
competing in this week’s Super City Uni Games in Auckland.
In fact the 11-strong team is looking forward to injecting
some old fashioned trans-Tasman rivalry in the mixed touch
rugby tournament and being challenged by defending champions
AUT.

ELITE FENCERS TO BATTLE IT OUT AT

Two of New Zealand’s best fencers will duel
for gold at the 2011 Super City University Games.
Monique
Coleman (AUT) and Anna Soboleva (Lincoln University) have
both achieved at the highest level and are looking to add a
Uni games gold medal to their resumes. With both athletes
ranked in the top ten in the country, the fencing
competition is set to be one of the highlights of the
games.
CANTERBURY UNIVERSITY: The ‘Ultimate’
at Frisbee
Ultimate Frisbee may sound like a foreign
game to many, but for Canterbury University students it’s
their bread and butter sport of the 2011 Super City Uni
Games. Of the 28 students competing from Canterbury, half of
them make up the Ultimate Frisbee team.
AUT HAS

clubs and picked up a paddle for the 2011 Super City Uni
Games.
The AUT student has returned to New Zealand after
being overseas in The United States and Australia crafting
her golfing skills. In addition to competing in the US, Meti
