To Christchurch With Love -- $115,000 raised
TO CHRISTCHURCH WITH LOVE -- the fundraising concert starring PAUL POTTS, the NZSO and some of New Zealand’s best loved artists – has raised in excess of $115,000 for the 2011 NZ Red Cross Earthquake Appeal.
About 100 entertainers and entertainment industry professionals volunteered their time and talent to stage the concert at the Bruce Mason Centre in Auckland on Saturday night. Potts received a standing ovation for his performance of Nessun Dorma and the packed to the rafters auditorium cheered wildly as all artists bowed for the final curtain.
“A resounding success,” is how co-producer Kate Ward-Smythe described the event. “Artists, professionals and the audience have all made a valuable contribution to the future of Christchurch. We are very proud to have been able to make a small difference in rebuilding this community.”
