With petrol prices climbing steeply, now is the perfect time to consider switching to automotive LPG which offers price stability and long term savings that petrol cannot match.

Contact Rockgas Auto LPG prices have been stable since October 2010 and are guaranteed to remain at the present level until at least 31 May 2011, says Contact Energy’s National Manager for Sales and Distribution, Peter Benstead.

“Auto LPG offers a degree of price stability which petrol does not. This makes it the ideal vehicle fuel in constrained economic times. Anybody who drives over 30,000 kilometres per annum and is looking to get more value for money from their vehicle, or their fleet, needs to take a good look at Auto LPG, said Peter Benstead.

“Petrol and diesel prices have both increased recently. According to Ministry of Economic Development data, 91 petrol was retailing at $1.749 on 1 October 2010 and as at 13 March 2011 had risen to $2.138. Diesel has increased from $1.193 to $1.578 over the same period. Petrol and diesel prices have only ever been higher once before. “In addition to the general savings that Auto LPG provides, Contact Rockgas Auto LPG customers also receive a preferential price, which is usually significantly lower than retail pump prices when they purchase their Auto LPG using the Contact Rockgas Auto LPG Fuel Card, which makes their LPG even cheaper”, says Peter Benstead.

The Auto LPG Fuel Card is a personalised, fee-free, charge card. Invoices are sent monthly which allows users to track LPG purchases and manage vehicle and fleet operating expenses. The Auto LPG Fuel Card gives users access to New Zealand's largest Auto LPG refuelling network with over 200 sites nationwide.

In some circumstances, Contact Energy also offers interest free loans, of up to $5000.00 to cover the cost of converting existing vehicles to Auto LPG. New model vehicles which run on Auto LPG are expected to be launched by major manufacturers later this year. Auto LPG is cleaner burning than petrol releasing fewer carbon emissions. So switching to Auto LPG is better for your wallet and the environment.
