Too Hot For Ice Hockey
International Ice Hockey USA vs Canada is selling up a storm for game one at Auckland Vector Arena on 23rd July.
Vector Arena is going to heat up on game night when USA and Canada face-off for the first time in New Zealand. After two weeks on sale, ticket sales have skyrocketed with 67% of tickets already sold.
There will be no shortage of entertainment from woe-to-go with extreme sound and lighting, pyros, big screen televisions with action replays, American announcers and foam fingers. Event promoter Craig Douglas says “The Ice Hockey game itself is only 50%. It’s the entertainment that will make it the real American Ice Hockey experience”.
With the event still four and a half months away, promoters can expect a sell out crowd. Although, there have been doubts in the minds of many fans as to whether game two at CBS Canterbury Arena will be able to go ahead in the wake of the Christchurch quake, the local promoters say that it will not be taken out of Christchurch “..it has not even crossed my mind to take International Ice Hockey away from Christchurch, it is what Christchurch needs at a time like this, to give it back some energy and excitement” say’s Craig Douglas.
Tickets are on sale through the event website www.internationalicehockey.co.nz
