Royal Band of Approval: His Royal Highness Prince William shows his support for Christchurch by wearing BANDS 4 HOPE.
As soon as Prince William touched down at Christchurch Airport today, he was photographed by the media putting on red
and black wristbands (BANDS 4 HOPE) in readiness for the Christchurch memorial service tomorrow.
The BANDS 4 HOPE appeal has been organised and fully funded by telecommunications company TelstraClear and it hopes to
raise at least $1 million for the Christchurch Mayoral Earthquake Fund. The company has donated 200,000 black and red
wristbands designed to help New Zealanders and people around the world to show their support for Christchurch.
BANDS 4 HOPE can be purchased with a donation from $5 at www.bands4hope.co.nz or at participating New Zealand Postshops. 100% of all donations go to the Christchurch Mayoral Earthquake Fund.
Christchurch local Simon Barnett, will officially launch the BANDS 4 HOPE appeal tomorrow (Friday 18 March).

BANDS 4 HOPE is an appeal set up and fully funded by TelstraClear to support affected staff, customers and families in
the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck on 22nd February in Christchurch. TelstraClear has had a base in
Christchurch for more than 20 years and it’s still a vital part of the organisation today with 280 staff based in the
city. BANDS 4 HOPE is a way of raising funds to aid the rebuilding effort and a way of banding together people from New
Zealand and around the world to show their support for the people of Christchurch.
