Media Advisory 4:45 pm, Thursday 10 March: Metro Services recommencing on Friday 11 March
Media Advisory sent on behalf of Environment Canterbury
The following Christchurch Metro bus services will recommence on Friday 11 March 2011:
• 3 Hospital Parkside to Ferrymead via Ferry Rd
• 5 Hospital Parkside to New Brighton via Pages Rd
• 10 Airport
• 10 Cashmere
• 14 Dyers Pass
• 28 Lyttelton
• 29 Airport
As well as these additional routes, the 60 Parklands service will be extended back to New Brighton from Burwood Hospital.
Buses will operate between 7am and 7pm until Sunday 13 March. Extended operating hours will begin on Monday 14 March – details about these hours to be advised soon.
Metro Bus services will continue to be free to all passengers.
All of these services will terminate at either Bealey Ave (10 Airport & 60) or Hospital Parkside (3, 5, 10 Cashmere, 14 Dyers Pass, 28 & 29). A link service will continue to be provided between these two terminuses.
These services will provide better access to eastern suburbs, the Cashmere Hills and the Airport. We are very aware that many parts of Christchurch are still without Metro bus services. We continue to review road and bridge conditions, and we will seek to add further services where possible.
For more information on all bus services operating, please visit MetroInfo or the MetroInfo Facebook page. We also have a limited MetroInfo call centre operating Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, ph 366 88 55.
