TAB to stump up cash for sixes at Fill the Basin for Christchurch
The TAB is throwing down the challenge to the cricket stars of yesteryear for this Sunday’s Fill the Basin for Christchurch cricket match at the Basin Reserve. For every 6 hit during the match, the TAB will donate $1,000 to the Christchurch Earthquake appeal.
TAB spokesperson, Mark Stafford, said;
“We’ve been thinking of ways that we can help encourage the guys to really go for it during the match. It’s been a few years since guys like Crowe and Petrie have thrown a bat around so this will be an added incentive for them to try that little bit harder to clear the ropes.
“It’s all part of the enjoyment of the occasion. It’s going to be a great day out,” he said.
To add a bit of fun for spectators, the TAB will also be opening its sports books and taking a small number of novelty bets on the game.
For the first time ever, the match is being broadcast exclusively LIVE on Trackside, Sky Digital (Channel 36), and also on CTV. A full replay will show on Trackside UHF and Freeview HD at 8pm.
