Mayor Appointed Patron of HOSPI Bike Ride in March

MAYOR WADE-BROWN PATRON FOR CHARITY BIKE RIDE

Supporting Wellington Children's Hospital + Canterbury Earthquake Relief

Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown has agreed to be Patron of the Hospi Bike Ride, Wellington’s annual hospital to hospital charity bike ride supporting Wellington Children’s Hospital.

The annual Hospi Bike Ride for Wellington Children’s Hospital, on Sunday 13th March, has been expanded to include support of the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.

Avid cyclist Mayor Wade-Brown leaped at the chance to support the Foundation as the official Patron of the event.

“I would be delighted to be Patron, in fact I am organising a social team comprised of elected members.” said Mayor Wade-Brown. “I look forward to participating – it is a wonderful cause and I am honoured to be involved.”

The annual event is hosted by HOSPI, the official lion mascot for Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation and will provide participants with a unique opportunity to ride the roads of Wellington in a fun bike ride that puts safety first.

The entire ride is 50km with options to ride solo, in a 25km relay section or in a team of 6 riders. Corporate, hospital and social teams of 6 riders are encouraged to take part with the opportunity to ride in Hospi bike ride branded cycling jerseys in corporate colours.

Cyclists can register online at www.hospibikeride.co.nz.
