Hospi Bike Ride to Also Support Canterbury Earthquake
Appeal
The annual Hospi Bike Ride for Wellington Children’s Hospital, on Sunday 13th March, has been expanded to include support of the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
The charity fun ride is held annually to support more than 27,000 sick kids who visit Wellington Children’s Hospital every year, in light of recent events the organisers, Cyclosport and Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation felt it very fitting to expand the ride to also support the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
“The Hospi is a unique, fun ride which supports sick kids at Wellington Children’s Hospital” says Maria Quigley, spokeswoman of Wellington Hospitals & Health Foundation. “But with Christchurch needing considerable help cyclists can now support both appeals”.
Now in its third year, the annual event is hosted by HOSPI, the official lion mascot for Wellington Hospitals and Health Foundation.
The entire ride is 50km with options to ride solo, in a 25km relay section or in a team of 6 riders. Hospi bike ride Patron, Mayor Wade-Brown, and Classic Hits FM have both registered teams for the event.
Entry and route details are available on the event website www.hospibikeride.co.nz
