Website Offers Free Online Tributes for Victims

Bereavement Support Website Offers Free Online Tributes for Victims of Christchurch Earthquake

Not Alone, a division of Website Elves Ltd, announced today that it is offering a 100% discount off individual online tributes to friends and family of the victims of the horrific earthquake that occurred in Christchurch on 22nd February 2011.

The online tributes usually cost $10 but this fee is being waived for those who wish to publish an everlasting tribute online to their loved one lost in the quake. There is no character or word limit to the length of the tribute and a photo can also be displayed (optional). Each tribute is published on it’s own dedicated page so it is a very special way of honouring lives lost.

The recently launched website, www.notalone.co.nz is a very personal project which began just over a year ago, after many years of formulating visions and ideas. Donna Raynel, the mind and fingers behind it all, has spent many weekend and evening hours putting it all together in the hope of helping others who find themselves in similar situations as she did.

It all started when Donna was feeling very alone at an extremely difficult time of her life when her mother passed away suddenly. “I had been talking to her at lunchtime to arrange my next visit, but by dinner time I was unexpectedly visiting along with the funeral directors”, Donna says.

As time went by, Donna began to learn how best to accept and adjust to this loss. Finally, some years later, Donna had an opportunity to collate her ideas into a website built specifically to assist others with their grief. Not Alone offers bereavement support and resources and is somewhere for the recently bereaved to focus their attention.

"The website offers others exactly what I was looking for but couldn’t find in my hours of need when my mum passed away”, says Donna. Although the website contains a wide variety of information, it is still very much a work in progress. As this personal project is worked on outside of her full time employment, the website will develop at a slower pace than she would like.

At present, the most popular pages are the words and music sections which offer the recently bereaved ideas for readings and playlists for funerals and memorial services.

Donna says, “We don’t have to live alone to feel alone. You could live in a house full of people, but still feel alone. Not Alone is here for you - no matter what your personal circumstances are.”
