NZ’s top rally driver Hayden Paddon has breakafast with PM

This morning New Zealand’s top rally driver Hayden Paddon attended a breakfast meeting in Auckland with Prime Minster, John Key.
The event was sponsored by Faye Langdon of Global Women New Zealand and Mike Cotton and both invited inspiring young people to join them for the breakfast with the Prime Minister and former Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dame Jenny Shipley who chairs Global Women.

Hayden had a unique opportunity to talk with the Prime Minister and share his passion for rallying as a sport. Hayden also told the Prime Minister about the newly-formed New Zealand World Rally Team and their future Production World Rally Championship pans. Mr Key was very interested and even indicated that he would like to get in the co-driver’s seat for a ride in the future.
Next Hayden has a meeting with Hon. Murray McCully in his role as Minister of Sport and Recreation this Thursday in Wellington to discuss this year’s and the future plans for the New Zealand World Rally Team. Hayden will talk with Mr McCully about the benefits of promoting New Zealand as a destination via one of the most popular sports in Europe.
