Civil defence information for the blind community
Media are invited to a demonstration of how the blind and partially sighted community will access newly developed civil defence emergency information on Monday, February 7.
The interactive, electronic resources were developed by the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind and the Ministry of Civil Defence & Emergency Management to ensure ready access to potentially life-saving information about how to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster event.
Event: Launch of “Get ready
now so you can get through - A resource for the blind and
partially sighted
community”.
Time:
10am to 11am, Monday, February 7 (media can set up at
9:45am).

Members of the RNZFB will demonstrate reading the
resources using the DAISY CD software and other preferred
formats.
