Zoo the place to woo this Valentine’s
‘Jungle love’ tours, a special late night opening, and catered picnics in a romantic location are all great reasons to make a date at Auckland Zoo this Valentine’s.
On Valentine’s weekend (Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 February) romantics with a sense of adventure, and humour, can take a ‘Jungle Love’ tour.
A unique back-to-nature experience, these 90-minute guided tours offer a light-hearted and unabashed look at the mystery of animal attraction - your chance to discover all about the love lives of the scaly and slimy, the furry and fanged, and the feathered and flightless! ‘Jungle Love’ tours, which need to be pre-booked, also offer access into Zoo areas normally off-limits to the public.
For that extra special touch, you can add on a catered picnic to be enjoyed in the romantic location of the Zoo’s Willow Island, or tickets to Che Fu’s Wild Bean Cafe Zoo Music concert on 12 February. Picnics are also available for those wanting to wine and dine their loved ones during a day Zoo visit over Valentine’s weekend
On Monday 14 February, the Zoo will celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special late-night opening until 8.30pm. The mid-summer evening will feature live music at the band rotunda, gourmet barbecue dining and picnic packages, and the chance to explore the Zoo before the sun goes down.
Normal Zoo admission prices apply. Visit www.aucklandzoo.co.nz for all details about Valentine’s activities and unique gift options.
