Group 1 Winning Siblings Galore at Karaka

Group 1 Winning Siblings Galore at Karaka

A key pointer towards the strength of this year's Karaka 2011 catalogues is the presence of over 30 full or half siblings to Group 1 winners amongst the line-up on offer in less than one week from today.

In a list that includes some big names, the first to go through the ring come in the very first run of proceedings, at Lots 8 and 9.

Brent & Cherry Taylor's Trelawney Stud will offer two siblings to Group 1 winners in its 2011 draft including the first of the Sale at Lot 8, the half-brother by Darci Brahma to the Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner Vouvray (Zabeel). Also three-times Group 1 placed, Vouvray is one of six winners from seven to race for the multiple stakes-winning Real Success (Success Express).

Trelawney's other Group 1 winning relative is at Lot 416, the half-brother by Elusive City to the 2007 $600,000 Redoute's Choice yearling Allez Wonder who won last season's Toorak Handicap.

At Lot 9 Brighthill Farm is offering a half-sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Vonusti (Ustinov) by their resident sire Perfectly Ready. Currently leading the NZ First Season Sires Table with four individual two-year-old winners, Perfectly Ready is the only stallion to have three horses inside the top 14 in the Karaka Million Order of Entry.
