Rainbow Youth’s National Queer Youth Hui is brewing
Rainbow Youth’s National Queer Youth Hui is brewing
This year’s national queer youth hui is on the boil so keep your ear to the ground (and your eyes to the Rainbow Youth and Curious.org websites) for more details coming soon!
In the meantime, clear your diary for Queen’s birthday weekend: June 4th,5th, 6th and start rounding up your crew (or your fine self) for the gathering – being held near Auckland.
We are working hard to make sure the hui is totally affordable for whoever wants to attend, so don’t let the travel put you off.
There are millions of reasons to come – surprise celebrity guests, a private show with some of Aotearoa’s top queer and takatapui performers, awesome speakers, inspiring workshops, great kai, - but most of all you get to spend three days hanging out with other young people who are as different and fabulous and unique as you are
It’s set to be an inspiring, super-memorable weekend and we are anticipating a massive turn out of queer*and trans young people from across the country. Come and participate in a creative think-tank around queer and trans youth issues, hang out, meet other amazing young people, play sport, make art, perform, dream, dance - whatever your thing is Rainbow Youth want you there!
Details coming soon on the Rainbow Youth Website soon www.rainbowyouth.org.nz, curious.org and on our facebook page.
*What we mean when we say Queer:
A reclaimed word that represents sexuality and gender diversity. We use it to encompass lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, fa'afafine, and takataapui identities, as well as everyone in between and not sure. This word is used by many people, but it is also appreciated that it is not the preferred term for everybody.
