Wellington Police looking for missing 50 year old man

Wellington Police are concerned for the well-being of a 50 year old man, last seen on Sunday.

Malcolm Freeman is a resident of Mash Community House in Hobart Street, Miramar and was last seen at around 7:30am on Sunday 16 January 2011.

Detective Sergeant Fleur De Bes of the Wellington City CIB says Mr Freeman is a mental health client who requires regular medication.

He is described as a European, around five foot 10 of medium build, with grey hair, slightly balding on top and a full beard and moustache, coloured black/grey. He was last seen wearing a blue and grey ski hat with plaited ties, jeans and boots.

"We know Mr Freeman often wears several layers of clothing so someone may recognise him. He often visits the botanical gardens and regularly attends church services around the city."

Fleur De Bes says Mr Freeman's bank accounts have not been accessed since he went missing on Sunday and Police are concerned for his safety.

"We urge anyone with any information to phone Wellington Police as soon as possible on (04) 381 2000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
