The winners just keep on coming and more than 210 non-profit clubs and organisations around the country have now had a share of the $350,000 that SBS Bank has given out through its SBS Star monthly prize draws of $10,000.

This week the team at SBS Bank are thrilled to celebrate giving $350,000 back to their worthy SBS Star non-profit account holders through the 10 monthly prize draws of $1000.

SBS Bank Invercargill manager Neil Bramley said it was fantastic to see the south reap the direct rewards of $162,000 of the total shared by non-profit groups throughout New Zealand, with wider Invercargill non-profits netting $99,000, Gore groups receiving $32,000 and Queenstown and Central Otago sharing $31,000.

“There is always huge excitement amongst our retail teams when they score one or more winners in the monthly draw because they know the lucky recipients will be so excited and grateful when we give them a call and share the good news.

“Being able to support our hard-working non-profits with a fee-free banking package that has been designed with their needs in mind and then offering the chance to win $1000 every month in the prize draws is what SBS Bank stands for – supporting our customers and our communities.

Orca Swim Club spokesperson Stu Wylie said they were thrilled to learn they had won $1000 in the SBS Star account draw.

“What a wonderful Christmas bonus for the club. As a club, it is always a challenge to secure sponsorship and funding to assist with the running of the club and help swimmers attend national meets. As such, the $1000 is a most welcome bonus.”

Blackmount Community Pool Committee spokesperson Louise Powell said her team wanted to say thank you SBS Bank for drawing their committee as a July winner of the SBS Star $1000 cash prize.

“We are very proud to bank with a local bank that generously gives back to community services such as ours. On behalf of the committee and our next generation of great swimmers thank you!"

Southland Kennel Association treasurer John Green said their November win could not have come at a better time as they had workmen starting the following week to replace the roof on their exhibition centre at Kennington.

“This is a major undertaking for us with a project cost of around $35,000. While we have fantastic support from the local funding agencies, our club members have to work hard to raise a large amount of money to complete the project. They are now $1000 closer to their goal.

“This win, SBS Bank’s ongoing support with our banking and loan facility and their sponsorship of our annual shows means that SBS Bank is very much a part of our club.”
