Wellington Blaze squad for fourth round matches against Auckland

The Wellington Blaze squad to meet the Auckland Hearts at Melville Park in Auckland in the fourth round of the 2010/11 domestic Women’s Action Cricket Cup One-Day and Action Cricket Twenty20 competitions on 14, 15 and 16 January is:

Sophie Devine (Captain)
Sarah Bradbury
Michelle Bunkall
Amanda Cooper
Lucy Doolan
Allex Evans
Melinda Hodgson
Renee Moffitt
Elizabeth Perry
Sian Ruck
Andrea Stockwell
Sarah Taylor

In one change to the Wellington Blaze squad that defeated the Otago Sparks in all three games last weekend, Mindy Hodgson replaces Maddy Chapman. Hodgson missed last week’s round due to personal commitments.

Megan Wakefield remains unavailable due to a hamstring injury. Women’s competition MVP leader Sophie Devine retains the captaincy.

The Wellington Blaze start the penultimate round of Twenty20 matches as joint leaders with the Central Hinds and Canterbury Magicians. The Hinds and the Magicians play each other this weekend, so if the Blaze can defeat the Hearts in both matches they will continue to be frontrunners heading into the last round next weekend against the Hinds.

The Blaze can cement second place behind Canterbury in the Women’s One-Day competition should they defeat Auckland in Saturday’s Action Cricket Cup fixture.
