Final chance to give to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal
Gifts urgently needed to plant a Christmas smile on children’s faces
With just a few days to go until Christmas, gift donations are urgently needed for the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, to help bring a Christmas smile to children’s faces.
Major Robert Ross from The Salvation Army is urging Kiwis to get firmly behind the Appeal in its final week and give what they can.
“The need in our communities is very great and, although many New Zealanders have been very generous, we’re still a long way short of our target of 30,000 gifts,” he says.
“In this final week before Christmas, we ask all shoppers to consider donating just one extra gift, no matter how small, to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal,”
“Imagine the difference it would make to so many struggling families at Christmas, if every shopper took up this challenge.”
“We welcome gifts for people of all ages but ask that you particularly remember children. There are few things worse than being the little boy or girl without presents on Christmas morning,” Major Ross adds.
Presents are being collected until Christmas Eve and can be placed under a Wishing Tree in any Kmart store across New Zealand.
