The Mayor welcomes the announcement by Auckland Transport heralding first steps towards integrated public transport ticketing.
“These are significant steps towards improving the public transport system for Auckland, making it easier for Aucklanders and visitors alike to move around the city,” says Len Brown.
“It’s vital that our buses, ferries and trains are well linked if our public transport system is to be as effective as it needs to be.”
Developing an integrated public transport integrated ticketing system is part of the Mayor’s commitment to roll out 100 projects in the first hundred days of the Auckland Council.
“This is a key part in building an effective public transport system and making Auckland a more liveable city. I look forward to early implementation of fully integrated ticketing across the Auckland region.”
