Redcliffs Primary Receives Windfall From Local Resident
Redcliffs Primary School is $10,000 richer thanks to the generosity of Sumner resident Dianne Atger and her purchase of a tin of MILO.
Mrs Atger won the major prize in the MILO Sports Cash Promotion, with the total $20,000 prize package delivering a $10,000 prize for her, plus an additional $10,000 for a sports club or school of her choice.
The decision to nominate the $10,000 to be awarded to her local primary school’s sporting facilities comes after seeing the efforts the school consistently puts in to fundraising, she says.
“I’ve only been in the area for two years and live close to the school. In that time I’ve seen the effort they put in to raising money for the school.”
As Redcliffs School prepares to wrap up the school year, Principal Kim Alexander says the $10,000 cash injection offers a major boost for the school’s fundraising programme.
“We are overwhelmed by the generosity of both NESTLÉ and Mrs Atger, and we are looking forward to putting the funds to good use around the school.”
Mrs Atger was one of three winners of the MILO Sports Cash Promotion run by NESTLÉ New Zealand, sharing a total prize pool of $60,000. Fairfield Amateur Athletics Club in Hamilton and Limehill Star Rugby Club in Winton were nominated by the other two winners and each received $10,000.
