Domino’s raises $11.5K for miners’ relief fund

Domino’s Pizza’s 79 New Zealand stores have joined forces to raise more than $11,600 for the Pike River Miners’ Relief Fund Trust during its 6 December Doughraiser.

All New Zealand stores donated $1 from every pizza sold on Monday this week, in total raising $11,621 for the trust which is supporting the families of the 29 miners who lost their lives in the mining tragedy.

Domino’s Pizza New Zealand General Manager Josh Kilimnik said the franchisees were delighted to have raised such a large amount in one day and wanted to thank everyone throughout the country that bought a pizza.

“Like all New Zealanders, our staff have watched the tragedy at the mine unfold and have wanted to do something to help,” says Kilimnik.

Kilimnik said Domino’s would also like to thank their suppliers who jumped on board for the Dough Raiser.

“Along with the support from all our franchisees, we also are very grateful to our suppliers who helped out during our Doughraiser.”

“It was great to see the Domino’s family come together and do whatever we could to make a difference and provide some practical assistance to the families of the miners.”
