Public Meeting about Warehouse Pah Rd Proposal

Public Meeting about Warehouse Pah Rd Proposal
"The proposal to establish a Warehouse store on Pah Rd may or may not be a good idea, but regardless, the local community has not been adequately consulted about it. After requests from local residents, we have set up a public meeting to allow locals to have a voice about this very significant change in their neighbourhood", says Roskill Community Voice member of the Puketapapa Local Board Michael Wood.
"The minimum possible level of consultation has occured to date, and requests from Roskill Community Voice and Cr Cathy Casey to give residents more time to submit have been turned down. Whatsmore, we have also been advised that the Warehouse has demanded that no elected representatives sit on the hearings panel. All of this suggests that the Warehouse does not want to listen to the local community", says fellow Board member Julie Fairey.
"That is simply not good enough. Residents we have spoken to are not necessarily opposed to the Warehouse, but they are angry that the proposal is being rammed through. Our public meeting will allow those residents to put their views forward, and to plan any further steps to raise their issues", continues Wood.
"We encourage any locals who are interested in the propsoal to come along and have their say", concludes Fairey.
