Please help Be a Christmas Star this year!

This Friday is our annual Christmas Street Appeal – collecting money so we can help families who are finding life a bit of a struggle at the moment.

The Wellington City Mission has a history of helping the people of Wellington for over 106 years. We firmly believe that everyone deserves stability, good-health and respect … and Wellingtonians continue to show that they support the work we do in the community. The Mission offers a range of programmes that encourage participants to confront and address their problems, and that help them move on to a better quality of life:

Mission for Families – for families at turning point in their lives
Mission for Youth – Alternative Education for at-risk youth
Mission for Independence – for the unemployed or financially disadvantaged
Mission for Seniors – for the older person with health, disability or social isolation issues

Through our annual Christmas Street Appeal, The Mission hopes to raise $35,000 for our Mission for Families programme, to support families who would otherwise go without this Christmas. Money from this appeal will be spent on advocacy, social worker support, household resources, food parcels and budgeting advice.
